Seesaw
Seesaw

Seesaw is our online student portfolio app and communication tool. At the beginning of the school year I send home information about getting started. It is a really convenient way for families to stay in contact with myself. You will also be able to see your child's work periodically as well! Feel free to reach out with questions or help using Seesaw at anytime.

About Mrs. Rich
Mrs. Rich

For those of you who might like to know a little bit more about the person your youngster will be spending his or her time with on a daily basis, or some of the interesting things we learn in first grade, I have written out a little bit of information in this letter.

I am originally from Standish, Maine and a graduate of Bonny Eagle High School. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, concentration in literacy, from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2006. After graduation I taught third grade for 3 years in Mexico, Maine. I moved back to Southern Maine to be nearer my family and fortunately obtained a job teaching first grade at Baldwin School. I taught six years at Baldwin school (5 in first grade 1 in Kindergarten) and this is my 11th year at Sacopee Valley Elementary school. I taught Kindergarten for a total of four years and have been back teaching first grade for the last seven years.

My husband, Kempton and I have a son, Kayden, 14, who is a freshman at SVHS and our daughter Annabelle, 12, is excited to be a seventh grader at SVMS! I'm hoping that you will find this school year to be a wonderful one for your child. We'll become stronger mathematicians, readers, writers and thinkers. Most importantly, we will continue practicing HAWKS behavior (helpful, awesome attitude, worker, kind and safe) and use emotional regulation strategies to solve our problems. As you can see, the list is lengthy and the work will be challenging, but also a lot of fun. Thank you for reading this letter and please feel free to contact me at anytime. I can be reached best through Seesaw or email, but notes in your child's folder or phone calls to the school are fine as well! Communication between home and school is such an important part of a child's education, as I'm sure you know. Happy school year! Thank you again!
